Japan Trip - Izakaya, Shinjuku

Japanese Mamak

On our way back to Shinjuku Train Station, we came across this huge food sales. Crowded with people, and food and freebies. Staff there are pretty generous and nice, explaining what kind of food they selling in English and free taste. YUM! But is super packed, I can't even bring out my camera to take a good shot.

Penang White Curry Mee - Penang Corner @Kepong

All from Penang Corner

Recently, Social networks are being blasted and viral about the MyKuali Instant Penang White Curry Mee. Sold out in all Kedai Runcit, hypermarket, and even some shops are selling it at a much higher marked up price to earn extra profit during the hype. For a foodie like myself, of course the bandwagon are inevitable. Everyone is having it, buying it, loving it, even host some event to promote it.

But there aren't any REAL Penang White Curry Mee laying around, at least not near by KL. Stumble upon on the traditional Chinese food town - Kepong, we found this little stall that selling Penang White Curry Mee.

Curry paste
As you expected, White Curry Mee is White. Yep, we sure didn't know about it. On serving, it was white soup, more like a chicken stalk with milk, wasn't spicy, just plain milky soup noodles.

However, this magic Curry paste once added to the broth, it was a different food. The spiciness and the chilli flavour spread across the soup, making it a unique White Curry Mee taste. With pork blood, squid and shell meat, bring the freshness into the overall taste, combined with the savoury curry paste, a hearty meal for the day.

They do serve Penang Prawn noodles, ain't shabby at all.

Give it a try, not the best location of all, no parking, no air-cond, no walk ways, just a simple stall serving simple food.

Johnny Rockets @ The Curve, Mutiara Damansara

Milk Shake at it's finest

A hamburger restaurant featuring retro style American diner - Johnny Rockets finally arrives on its first branch @ The Curve, Mutiara Damansara. Checker board floor design, with overall white and red definitely eye catchy and appetising. The branch in The Curve is large enough to fit in round 40-50 tables, and despite that we are still having trouble getting a table because it is usually crowded with hungry customers. Especially on weekends, I have to wait approximately 30 minutes for me to get a table for four.

I was being told their milk shake are the best there is, so I order one. I'm not quite a sweet tooth person, but man this milk shake is so good. Creamy, smooth, milky and the vanilla flavour just exploded in your mouth with a chilly touch. However, is still too sweet for my taste.

[TIPS] : Because the milk shake is too sweet for me, I have to suffer the sweetness in my throat till I found 7-Eleven to buy a bottle of water to rinse my throat because they DO NOT serve plain water. Yes, they only sell mineral water on a ridiculous price of Rm5 per bottle. So BRING YOUR OWN WATER.

Vanilla Milk Shake - Classic - Rm14.90
The Original Hamburger as their slogan said, why would you choose other than 'The Original' burger from their menu.

Randaevoo @ Ativo Plaza, Bandar Sri Damansara

Rendezvous on Randaevoo

Pretty cleaver name for this Cafe because Rendezvous in French means to meet up, and this cafe are inviting customers to meet up in their Cafe.
Locating in the newest area - Ativo Plaza, Bandar Sri Damansara, a morden complex with similar design as Jaya One and Sunway Giza, this classy cafe is not far away from One Utama.

At the first look of the design itself, it reassemble Plan B by the B.I.G group. With black bars, covered with glass and yellow lightning, giving it a contemporary look but somewhat boring as the newer cafe are abusing these style of front design now a days.

The main selling point of Rondaevoo is their Fresh, Nutritious, & Organic food and coffee.

Tian Yian Cafe (天苑) @ Viva Home

LV - Lama(Tibetan) Vegan

Tian Yian Cafe (天苑)

A so called half German friend of mine recommend us to have dinner at this Tian Yian(天苑) Cafe just a street behind Viva Home. He is been bragging us for a week, praising their delicious food and environment.
So we give it a try.

It is operated by a Tibetan(喇嘛) from China. Never get to see the real owner, but the theme of the restaurant doesn't feel like it, a very classy 3 linked shop cafe with bunch of suited waiter & waitress.

The Front
From what I saw from the menu, this cafe serve fusion food. So many choices that, I took about 30 mins to place my order.
The price here is very reasonable, between Rm5 to Rm20 depends on the portion of the food.

Pork Sandwich with Fries - Rm12 with drinks
The pork is a vegan pork, the sauce is doing the job of replication the real pork taste. The texture however similar to canned pork. The fries I have to give credit, it doesn't feel and taste oily. In fact, I don't taste the oiliness that we usually have in normal fries.
