Tian Yian Cafe (天苑) @ Viva Home

LV - Lama(Tibetan) Vegan

Tian Yian Cafe (天苑)

A so called half German friend of mine recommend us to have dinner at this Tian Yian(天苑) Cafe just a street behind Viva Home. He is been bragging us for a week, praising their delicious food and environment.
So we give it a try.

It is operated by a Tibetan(喇嘛) from China. Never get to see the real owner, but the theme of the restaurant doesn't feel like it, a very classy 3 linked shop cafe with bunch of suited waiter & waitress.

The Front
From what I saw from the menu, this cafe serve fusion food. So many choices that, I took about 30 mins to place my order.
The price here is very reasonable, between Rm5 to Rm20 depends on the portion of the food.

Pork Sandwich with Fries - Rm12 with drinks
The pork is a vegan pork, the sauce is doing the job of replication the real pork taste. The texture however similar to canned pork. The fries I have to give credit, it doesn't feel and taste oily. In fact, I don't taste the oiliness that we usually have in normal fries.

Miso Soup - Rm 5
This miso soup is very good in the sense of not Japanese style. Not sure how do it taste like, but it is sweet and savoury and doesn't have the miso-ness. With tofu, tomato, lettuce and seaweed with a touch of sesame seed making this soup a filling and delicious soup

One Pot - Rm 19
We were not expecting this, but my half German friend keep nagging about having one bread in the morning, can eat a farm now, and he orders this. The portion served here is pretty huge. So yeah. We need to stuff these food. The One Pot is filled with meat alike food made with beans, flour and tofu along with that black sauce that reassemble Dong Po Pork(东坡肉) is very mouth watering. Best served with white rice.
Seafood Sandwich - Rm6.90
Spicy Chilli Pizza - Rm17
I don't believe this is a vegan pizza, the taste is just like an ordinary pizza with meat. Delicious~ However the crust is a bit thick to my taste.

Overall experience dinning here is great, friendly staff, fast serving time, clean environment, customers are mostly family oriented and it is 3 linked store, which have no problem looking for a seat during peak.
It is a normal cafe that serve gourmet level dishes, I'm highly recommend you to try this out.

However the parking here is a problem since it is a shop lot.
